34th TISFF announces int’l documentary lineup

The 34th Tehran Int’l Short Film Festival picks 12 documentary titles for main competition section.

The selection committee of the 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has selected 12 titles to compete at the international documentary section.

The festival’s official website recently announced the titles, from among some 6000 films submitted to the festival, in experimental competition list where works from 11 countries will compete.

‘Last Letters’ directed by Nils Clauss from South Korea, ‘Underground’ directed by Valery Melnikov from Russia, ‘Monoscape’ (Monoscap) directed by Viktor Brim from Germany, and ‘The Legendaries’ directed by Vincent Le Port from France are in the lineup.

The list goes on with ‘Let There Be Night’ directed by Benjamin Hameury from Hungary, ‘Blueberry Spirits’ directed by Astra Zoldnere from Latvia, as well as ‘Bring me South’ directed by Froukje Van Wengerden and ‘The Shepherd’ (De Hoeder) directed by Joost Van Der Wiel, both from the Netherlands.

‘The Price of One Mistake’ directed by Nika Zholdosheva from Kyrgyzstan, ‘Cucli’ directed by Xavier Marrades from Spain, ‘In the Woods’ (Ins Holz) co-directed by Thomas Horat as well as Corina Schwingruber Ilic from Switzerland, and ‘Goran the Camel Man’ directed by Marcin Lesisz from Poland are also among the selected films.

The event includes national competition, international competition and out of competition sections.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, to be directed by Seyyed-Sadeq Mousavi, is slated for October 17-22 in the Iranian capital city.

Organized by IYCS, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and a member of International Short Film Conference, the festival aims to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to exchange their experiences.
